The twenty-fourth United Nations Climate Change conference (COP24) will be held in the city of Katowice in Poland from December 3rd to 14th, 2018. Countries representatives will discuss the implementation of the Treaty of Paris. US withdrawal from the agreement is expected to be one of the most important issues of the conference; this is while, US has assigned the highest share of the global pollution to itself after China.
At the Polish conference , there will be numerous side events like the past summit, with a range of different groups from around the world. In fact, participants include business owners and industries, environmental groups and non-governmental organizations, farmers, local governments, research institutes, trade unions, various youth and women’s organizations, and senior officials from the world’s governments.
CHEECO Institute is planning to participate in the summit as the observer NGO, and intends in the meantime to focus on some of the international as well as national problems and challenges associated with the climate change crisis.
In this regard, in addition to participation in the programs planned by the Secretariat of the Polish Conference, holding exhibition from December 3rd to December 7th, 2018 and holding the meeting are among the Institute’s anticipated plans.
